Canine Skin issues

                            (A note from the owner)

"I typically see a lot of older dogs who have chronic skin problems in the form of dermatitis, allergies, dandruff, hot spots, and chronic yeast infections.

As it turns out, it seems that alot of pet owners have little to no knowledge of the cause of such skin issues, and seem to think that these problems are somehow grooming related, but this is typically not the case.

I myself am a former veterinary groomer, and I have plenty of experience working with animals with chronic skin conditions/problems. In my experience, most of these types of issues can be remedied with weekly (or twice weekly) medicated bath soaks, or a simple change in diet- as a lot of skin problems are caused by food allergies or sensitive skin which could be reacting to a multitude of irritants in the pet's environment.... including but not limited to: grain(s) in the dog's food/diet, mites, fleas/bugs, grass (some dogs are allergic to it), pollen, season/weather changes, different types of fabric or carpet, ants, hard water, body sprays, dry or wet shampoos....ect.

In the event that your dog exhibits these symptoms of irritation, I strongly recommend talking to your vet as soon as your pet exhibits any kind of rash, broken sores (hot spots), red skin, or raised skin that does not improve within a few hours after grooming (or at any time in general for that matter).

ALL OF MY SHAMPOOS ARE HYPOALLERGENIC and made with all natural ingredients in the USA, so while irritation from them is not entirely Impossible, it IS HIGHLY unlikely that your pet's skin problems are somehow related to my shampoos or grooming methods.

Some pets will require medication or weekly medicated baths (usually in the form of take home shampoo) from a vet to help maintain a healthy skin balance. However, in the event that your pet comes back from the salon with brand new skin issues... the best thing to do is to immediately call and send me photos of the skin problems along with any questions or concerns right away (either to my facebook page or shop phone), and I will be happy to offer advice and document any issues that pets have after coming into contact with our products or methods at the shop. I strive to offer a professional experience for our pets and clients and truly care for their safety and well being."
